We provide the Espanola valleys only crematory and own Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Santa Fe. We are the largest family funeral care provider in this part of the state.

We strive to meet the expectations of the families we serve. Its important to count on professionals, and our licensed funeral directors are graduates of mortuary colleges & are Board Certified . Because funerals can be arranged many different ways, we listen carefully to your ideas and incorporate them into meaningful services. Should you want to arrange services that are still dignified yet simple, we consider ourselves well versed in planning altenative, less formal arrangements. We understand legal requirements and will help with suggestions that are practical. Our parent company, Rivera Family Funeral Homes, has been family owned for over 45 years before purchasing the Block-Salazar Mortuary, serving families from in Colorado & New Mexico. Our founders, Amos & Adina Rivera are native New Mexicans. Amos graduated from The Manaul High School in Albuquerque before graduating from the Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY., he is the past Pueblo County Coroner in Colorado. Together he and Adina operated the original family funeral home in Pueblo, CO. for 30 years before selling that location. They worked hard together to raise six children within the family mortuary. This was a true example of an american small family business built on the foundation of hard work & perseverance. The Rivera family has always strived to provide personal and dignified service. Our locations in Colorado were sold many years ago allowing us to concentrate solely on our New Mexico companies. We personally oversee our mortuary, cemetery and crematory operations. Their sons Tim & Matthew have both been instrumental in the funeral home operations. Tim graduated from The San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. Among his many accomplishments, Tim served as chairman of the board of The New Mexico Board of Thanatopractice (mortuary oversight board). He currently operates the Taos, NM. location.Matthew graduated president of his class with perfect attendance from The Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, and manages the Espanola location. Our staff consists of local New Mexico residents who are knowledgeable concerning our unique customs and rituals including native american rituals. Please feel confident in knowing that we represent you, and our discussions are held in the strictest of confidence.

We Are Remodeling To Better Serve You
Our facility in Espanola is spacious and comfortable, the nicest funeral home we own. We have completed our remodeling with new carpet and interior touches. We are respectful of area churches, and were careful not-to design our facility to resemble one. We want to provide a neutral, quiet and elegant place where people from all denominations and beliefs can feel comfortable. We've also relocated our reception office to the front entryway for immediate attention to visitors. We are able to accomodate many families at the same time while still providing privacy and comfort through our two elegant chapels and two seperate state rooms. We will be adding paved parking to an expanded parking area soon ! We're confident that you'll appreciate our changes.

NEW ACQUISITIONS IN SANTA FE
The Rivera Family has completed our independent acquisition of Santa Fe Funeral Options & Memorial Gardens Cemetery, and La Paloma Funeral Home (all in Santa Fe). However, Santa Fe is much overdue for a unique funeral home facility. Our immediate plans include the construction of a new & renovated funeral home facility at our Rodeo Road location. Thats why we have closed the doors of La Paloma Funeral Home, allowing us to move forward with our architect.

HOURS OF OPERATION
For emergencies, our staff is available 24 hours a day throughout the year. Our business office is open Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm. Weekends & holiday hours are by appointment, and by a schedule determined when arranging the funeral. Out of respect to the families we serve, we ask that outside food or beverages not be brought in to our establishment. Thank you for your understanding.
